Lisa McCorkle

New York City native Lisa McCorkle has long been captivated by the power of storytelling. Her passion for reading and creative writing has always been a cornerstone of her connection with the world, complemented by her innate ability to listen and engage with others authentically.

Lisa's life is a tapestry of commitment — a balance between raising a family, thriving in her full-time career, and expanding her academic horizons with a Master’s degree in Urban Studies from Queens College, CUNY. Her dedication to education is mirrored in her volunteer work, where she imparts financial literacy to middle and high school students.

The journey to authorship was a marathon, not a sprint. Over 15 years of "stop and go" persistence culminated in her debut novel, "The Battle of Finance and Fame." More than a book, it's a family-friendly financial odyssey that serves as a guide for teens and young adults navigating the intersection of financial literacy and life's aspirations.

Her literary debut laid the groundwork for the B.O.O.K.M.E. Foundation 501(c)3 and LMC CONNECTION — organizations that resonate with her mission to foster a community of learning and empowerment.

As Lisa champions the goals of others, she also works on the eagerly anticipated sequel to "The Battle of Finance and Fame." With the hope that the next chapter arrives in fewer than 15 years, she invites you to become part of her growing community.
